Roy Ginsberg is a sixth-year PhD student in the Department of Slavic Languages and Literatures. His research focuses on 20th century avant-garde movements across Eastern Europe and Jewish identities in the late-Russian Empire and Soviet Union. He is currently finishing his dissertation “Building the Ratn-farband: Monumentalizing the Soviet Industrial Utopian Project through Yiddish Art and Literature.” His other research interests include the 19th century Russian novel and trends in narratology across modern Russian and Yiddish literature.

Prior to his studies at Harvard, Roy received his B.S. in Economics and Russian Language and Literature from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and went on to spend three years working in the healthcare IT industry.
