The monthly Literary Colloquium meets at Professor Todd's house on Thursday evenings at 6:30. An informal gathering of graduate students and faculty, it features a 30-minute talk by a student on some aspect of their research, and it is followed by lively discussion. Pizza, coffee, and cookies are served, and participants bring their own beverages (typically wine, beer, soft drinks). It has met every year since 1988, and it provides excellent practice for students about to give conference papers or job talks. The Department Administrator collects volunteers; students working on Slavic literatures in Comparative Literature are welcome to participate.
