The Department of Slavic Languages and Literatures offers a rich program in the languages, linguistics, literature, film, art, and cultural history of the Slavic world, from the medieval period up through the present, and including elementary language courses in Russian, Czech, Polish, Ukrainian, and Bosnian, Croatian, Serbian (BCS) as well as graduate seminars discussing the original texts of literature from the region.

Our faculty also teach courses in other departments and programs at Harvard, including General Education, Freshman Seminars, Comparative Literature, and Art, Film, and Visual Studies.
