Paul is a PhD candidate from Scotland in the UK. He earned his undergraduate degree in German and Russian Studies from the University of Edinburgh in 2020, which entailed periods of study abroad at Moscow State University and the University of Tübingen. He went on to receive his Master’s degree in Slavic Studies at the University of Oxford the following year, where his research examined the articulations of identity in Modernist and Post-Soviet literature.

Currently, Paul’s research interests are centered around the construction of identity in Post-Soviet literature, particularly from Ukrainophone perspectives. More broadly, he is also interested in contemporary Russophone and Ukrainophone literature,  alongside prose and poetry from the Russian Modernist period.
