"This article, on the restaurant reviews by the Czech poet Petr Král in the early 1990s, came from a long and enjoyable process of research, writing and revision.  This publication would not have been possible without the help of my colleagues in the Slavic Department.  Thanks to Veronika Tuckerova for introducing me to Král's work as a poet, memoirist and food writer, to everyone who gave feedback during a GSAS Lunchtime Workshop, and to our far-flung correspondent Alex Tullock who provided some of the illustrations."
