Genesee Johnson joins Slavic Department as new Department Administrator

July 21, 2020

We are pleased to announce that Genesee Johnson has joined the Department of Slavic Languages and Literatures as our new Department Administrator. Genesee has been at Harvard for over twenty years, and has worked at the School of Public Health, as well as at the Administrative Systems Assistance Program of the FAS. She earned her undergraduate degree in Finance and Management from Northeastern University, and has a Master's degree from Harvard University in Business Management.

Most recently, in 2016, she joined us in Arts and Humanities (and at the Barker Center) as the Manager of the Arts and Humanities Administrative Services Group. Not only does she come to us with extensive knowledge of the ways of Harvard, but she also brings experience as a language teacher to our Department: she taught Jamaican Patois in the African Language program for five years, winning numerous teaching awards from the Bok Center and helping to build that program from two students in 2014 to sixty-six students in 2019. Welcome to the Department, Genesee!
