Welcoming Visiting Associate Professor Maria Grazia Bartolini

We are delighted to welcome Visiting Associate Professor of Slavic Languages and Literatures Maria Grazia Bartolini for the fall 2025 term. Her research focuses on the religious culture of early modern Ukraine, with special attention to the intersection of preaching, memory, and visual arts in seventeenth-century Ukraine, the political and social aspects of homiletic and hagiographical texts, and the reception of Christian Neoplatonism in the East Slavic region. Professor Bartolini will teach two courses in the Department: SLAVIC 166: Verbal and Visual Encounters in Medieval and Early Modern Eastern Europe, and SLAVIC 254: Old Church Slavonic.
