Congratulations to Professor Michael Flier on Retirement

The Slavic Department congratulates Michael S. Flier, Oleksandr Potebnja Professor of Ukrainian Philology, Emeritus, on his retirement after many decades of dedicated Harvard service. Over the course of his distinguished career, Professor Flier made lasting contributions to the field, inspired generations of students and scholars, and played a vital role in shaping the study of Ukrainian language and culture at Harvard and beyond. We celebrate his many accomplishments and extend our deepest thanks for his years of leadership, scholarship, and service to the University.
