Congratulations to Dr. Pastushenkov on the publication of his new research article!

A warm congratulations to Dr. Dmitrii Pastushenkov, Preceptor in Slavic Languages and Literatures (Russian Language Program), and his colleagues, Dr. Olesya Kisselev (University of South Carolina), Dr. Irina Dubinina (Brandeis University), and Dr. Jason Merrill (Michigan State University), on their latest publication in Foreign Language Annals titled "The academic landscape for Russian heritage learning in U.S. colleges: Understanding institutional practices and identifying opportunities." The article presents a survey-based study of Russian language instructors across 43 programs, advocating for the creation of institutionalized spaces for heritage students, including specialized courses, appropriate placement tests, and customized pathways for completing a minor or major. We are very pleased to recognize Dmitrii for his contribution to this important work!
