From the Harvard Gazette - Ukrainianists Talk Cultural Memory

The Harvard Gazette recently published an excellent writeup of the panel discussion last month on Ukrainian cultural memory, occasioned by the release last year of an excellent new book by Nataliya Shpylova-Saeed, Preceptor in Slavic Languages and Literatures, Russia's Denial of Ukraine: Letters and Contested Memory. Nataliya, Bohdan Tokarskyi (Assistant Professor of Slavic Languages and Literatures) and George Grabowicz all took part in the panel, where they discussed the ways in which Ukrainian cultural memory has been indelibly shaped by Russian imperialism. We are very excited to see this much-needed intellectual work being done so diligently and passionately by our dear colleagues, and we extend another warm congratulations to Nataliya on the publication of her book!
