New Book from Dr. Steven Clancy and Dr. Veronika Egorova: Вверх! Building on Your Foundations in Russian

Steven Clancy and Veronika Egorova from the Slavic Department along with former colleagues Oksana Willis (now at UC-Berkeley) and Daniel Green (PhD 2018, now at University of Bristol, UK) have just released volume one of the series Вверх! Building on Your Foundations in Russian. These innovative materials engage the inherent challenge of intermediate Russian study through clear grammar explanations, strategic vocabulary expansion, and engaging and functional communicative activities for the classroom. 

The course revisits topics typically covered in introductory courses, allowing learners to consolidate and expand their foundational knowledge. A blend of cultural insights, reading, listening, and viewing exercises enrich students’ cultural understanding. By presenting a range of examples from a variety of contexts, topics, and genres, students gain a broad and deep understanding of the nuances of Russian.
