Congratulations to Dr. Tuckerova on the publication of her book!

A warm congratulations to Veronika Tuckerova, Senior Preceptor in Slavic Languages and Literatures (Czech program), on the recent publication of her Czech book Bedekr Kafka (Revolver Revue, 2024), a study examining the interplay between politics and aesthetics in the reception of Franz Kafka’s work during the communist era in Czechoslovakia. A book in English, Reading Kafka in Prague: On Translation, Samizdat, Translation, Export, and Dissent, which covers Kafka’s reception in Czechoslovakia from the early 1920s to the late 1980s in more detail, is forthcoming from Bloomsbury Academic in June of this year.
