 Czech Poet and Scholar Sylva Fischerová
Sylva Fischerová (born 1963), one of the most distinguished poets of her generation, will read her poems and talk about the translation process Following this discussion, from 12 to 1 pm Fischerová will join the Czech table for conversation in Barker 373.  

Fischerová, a classicist who teaches at Charles Univesrity in Prague,  writes poetry with a vivid imagination and historical reach. She had published eight volumes of poetry in Czech, and her books have been translated to numerous languages. She also writes prose, essays, and books for children. Her book, Stomach of the Soul, was just published by the Calypso Editions.
