Introduction: Olena Haleta, Visiting Professor, Department of Slavic Languages and Literatures

To celebrate the resilience of Ukraine a year after its full-scale invasion, the Slavic Department will host a reading of contemporary Ukrainian works in translation. On the 392nd day of this war—Thursday, March 23—we will gather as a community to reflect on what has been written in Ukraine about/against/despite the war and how, and to hear those words resound in the here and now.

The evening will begin with a brief introduction to contemporary Ukrainian writing by Professor Olena Haleta. About an hour-long reading of select texts by members of the Department will be followed by informal discussion.

We invite our Harvard community and supporters to attend. All are welcome.
