Date:

Graduate Summer Language Study

Summer funding for current graduate students in the Slavic Department to attend summer Polish-language courses in Poland. (U.S. programs would be eligible as well). This grant could be used to pay tuition, fees, the summer programs room and board costs, required textbooks, and air travel for any established summer program, up to $4000 per student per summer. Any given student could use this funding twice during their time at Harvard. We aim to offer up to two such fellowships a year. Preference will be given to graduate students in Slavic or Comparative Literature, or other graduate students who have demonstrated an interest in studying Polish literature at Harvard, for example, by signing up for the graduate secondary field in Slavic, or by taking relevant literature courses in the Slavic Department. Should there be more than two requests in a given year, the recipients would be chosen by a small committee of two or three Slavic Department faculty, assembled each year by the Chair.
