Students of Russian celebrate the 2015 Year of Literature in the Russian Federation

On April 21, students of all levels of Russian gathered in the Plimpton Room to celebrate the 2015 Year of Literature in the Russian Federation. This year, the main theme of this event was the Writer and the Creative Process, as well as Boris Pasternak. Students recited poems by 19th and 20th century poets and sang classical and bard songs, accompanied by guest musicians and Teaching Fellow Lara Roizen. The “Russian through M. Bulgakov” class demonstrated their video project “Manuscripts Don’t Burn” («Рукописи не горят»).

Graduate Student Sara Vitali took the photos of the event, and guest violinist Eli Willis welcomed the participants with classical compositions.

This event was coordinated by Oksana Willis with help and support of Veronika Egorova and Steven Clancy.
