Slavic Department congratulates Katia Dianina on winning the 2014 AATSEEL prize for the Best Book in Literary and Cultural Studies

Katia Dianina, an Associate Professor at the University of Virginia and a 2002 graduate of the Ph.D. program in Comparative Literature, who also conducted extensive teaching and course work in Slavic, received the 2014 AATSEEL Book Prize for the Best Book in Literary and Cultural Studies for When Art Makes News: Writing Culture and Identity in Imperial Russia.
