The Department of Slavic Languages and Literatures congratulates the winners of this year's prizes awarded by the Setchkarev Memorial Prize Committee for best graduate and undergraduate papers written in 2015:
Joshua Barthel: Winner of the Setchkarev Memorial Prize for Best Undergraduate Paper, “The Failure of the Two Alexeys: Professional Identity in Anna Karenina”
Olga Breininger-Umetayeva: Winner of the Setchkarev Memorial Prize for Best Graduate Paper, “The Caucasus in Russian Literary Imagination: Pushkin, Lermontov and Tolstoy”
Lee Hittner-Cunningham: Winner of the Setchkarev Memorial Prize for Best Undergraduate Paper, “A Family of Accomplices and an Isolated Killer: Models of Responsibility in The Brothers Karamazov and Crime & Punishment”
The prizes were presented at the Department of Slavic Languages and Literature's Spring Reception on May 12, 2016.
