On April 20th, second-year and heritage students of Russian put on a fantastic performance of 'Разговоры за чайным столом' (Conversations at the Tea Table), a short story by Soviet satirists I. Il'f and E. Petrov. Published in 1934, the story pokes fun at educational reforms following the Revolution, which result in students speaking in ideological buzzwords, but leave them in ignorance of the basics of maths, geography, history, and even Russian literature!
It was directed by Slavic graduate students Daniel Green and Sarah Vitali.
